Bits 'n' PCs is based in Clarecastle, just outside Ennis in County Clare. We set up in Ireland in 2016, but originally were formed in South Wales in the UK in November 1998.
Rik Hughes is the proprietor of Bits 'n' PCs. With nearly 40 years of experience with PCs and software, his thirst for knowledge in the computer knows no bounds. Studying computer electronics at college, he also became highly proficient at programming and did an entire thesis on sound engineering. Moving on to the fruit machine industry a few years later, he spent the next 10 years designing and programming fruit machines for some of the UK's biggest manufacturers. He's also a qualified teacher, having taught technical subjects in Neath Port Talbot College for 5 years, he came to recognise what people want to learn about computing, without loads of jargon and confusing terms. He understands the requirements of customers and will do everything he can to help. Rik has access to many people with expertise outside of his field when required. He set up the company with the primary aim of helping individuals, local businesses and schools who wanted help with their technology needs.
